How to Install Strapi on a VPS Using THE.Hosting’s Auto-Installer

20.08.2025, 15:03

Strapi is a flexible and developer-friendly headless CMS with an open-source core. It’s especially popular among developers building APIs for websites, apps, and mobile services. The interface is clean, the settings are highly customizable, and it’s easy to tailor the platform to your specific needs. With THE.Hosting’s built-in auto-installer, you can have Strapi up and running in just a few clicks.

Getting Started

1. Log in to your THE.Hosting account
After signing up, you’ll receive an email with your login credentials. Use those to access your personal dashboard.

2. Go to “Services” → “Virtual Servers”
Find your VPS in the list and click “Go to panel” to manage its settings.

3. Don’t have a server yet? Order one
From the main page, choose the country where you’d like your VPS to be hosted. Browse the available plans, pick the one that fits your needs, and click “Order Server.”

Make sure to choose Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, as the auto-installation script works only with these versions. Once payment is complete, your server will appear in your account.

4. Open server management (click the three-dot icon)
From the dropdown menu, select “Virtual Machines.”

5. Click “Run Script”
A search bar will appear. Type in “Strapi.”

6. Select the Strapi installation script and hit “Run”
The setup process will start automatically. You can monitor progress under the “Status” section.

7. Wait for the installation to finish
When everything is done, you’ll get an email with your access details: the link to your Strapi project and login credentials for the admin panel.

8. Follow the link in the email
You’ll be taken straight to the Strapi interface — ready to go. From there, you can start creating collections, integrating APIs, and adding content.
