How to Easily Install HostCMS on a Virtual Server Using a Script

26.06.2025, 15:20

HostCMS is a reliable and time-tested content management system used by bloggers, news sites, corporate portals, and even online stores. Its key strength is modularity: you can build your website like a set of building blocks. Need a specific feature, like a news widget or product catalog? Just plug it in — no hassle.

This guide will show you how to quickly install HostCMS on your virtual server using a single script. No complicated commands or instructions — even a beginner can handle it.

Note: This installation script only works on servers running Ubuntu 22.04 or Ubuntu 24.04. If your server runs another Linux distribution or a different OS, the script won’t work.

What to do:

1. Log in to THE.Hosting.
Go to the THE.Hosting website and log into the billing panel using the credentials you received by email after registering.

2. In the billing panel, go to “Virtual Servers” under the “Products/Services” section.
You’ll see a list of servers you’ve ordered. Choose the one where you want to install HostCMS and open its control panel.

If you haven’t ordered a server yet, here’s how to do it:

2.1. Choose a location for your server.
We recommend picking a location close to your target audience. For example, if most of your users are in Eastern Europe, select a data center in that region. This helps ensure fast site access for visitors, which is good for SEO and overall site performance.

2.2. Pick a plan based on your expected load.
If you're running a personal blog or a lightweight website, a basic plan will do just fine.

2.3. Configure your server.
Set the rental period, adjust key parameters, and place your order. Once you’ve paid, the server will be ready to go.

3. In the server control panel, find and open the “Virtual Machines” section.

4. Click the three dots menu and select “Run Script.”

5. Search for “HostCMS.”
You’ll see a script specifically for installing HostCMS.

6. Click “Run Script” and monitor the process in the “Status” section.

7. Once the installation is complete, you’ll receive login details by email.

That’s it — HostCMS is installed and ready to use. All that’s left is to configure the site and fill it with your content.
