RedTrack: Cloud Affiliate Tracker with No Server Installation

RedTrack is fundamentally different from Keitaro and Binom — it's a cloud SaaS, not a self-hosted tracker. No VPS installation, no SSH, no terminal scripts. You register, pay a subscription, and work in a browser — RedTrack processes all traffic on its own infrastructure.

This isn't better or worse than self-hosted — it's a different model with different trade-offs. Understanding them matters before making a choice.

What RedTrack Is

RedTrack was founded in 2015 in Lithuania. The platform positions itself as a performance marketing solution focused on cookieless attribution — relevant given iOS 14.5 restrictions, browsers phasing out third-party cookies, and ad networks tightening their rules.

Technically: proprietary private cloud infrastructure (not a shared multi-tenant public cloud), 15 data centers worldwide powered by AWS, 99.98% uptime SLA — less than 90 minutes of downtime per year. Redirects run at 50–80ms globally thanks to CDN optimization.

What RedTrack does:

Click and conversion tracking without third-party cookies — via server-to-server (S2S) postbacks and Conversion API integrations with Meta, Google Ads, and TikTok. Multi-channel attribution with up to 30 data points per click. Automation: optimization rules, automatic traffic cost updates every 5, 15, or 30 minutes. Multi-level reports with grouping up to 5 levels. White-label: a partner portal with a custom domain for publishers or agency clients. Mobile tracking support — SKAdNetwork, in-app events, device identifiers.

Who It Fits, Who It Doesn't

Fits: affiliates and media buyers who don't want to deal with server administration. Marketing agencies with teams and multiple clients — the built-in white-label portal and flexible access controls are purpose-built for this. Ecommerce brands where CAPI integrations and cookieless attribution matter. Those working primarily with Facebook, Google Ads, and TikTok — RedTrack has direct API integrations with all three.

Doesn't fit: if it's important that data stays only on your own infrastructure — self-hosted trackers (Keitaro, Binom) give complete control here. If traffic volume is very high and per-event pricing becomes more expensive than a fixed self-hosted subscription. If you need a built-in cloaker — RedTrack doesn't have one.

Pricing

RedTrack bills by number of events (clicks + conversions combined) per month. Approximate pricing — current plans at redtrack.io/pricing:

  • Solo — ~$149/mo — 3M events/mo, 1 user, core features
  • Team — ~$249/mo — 10M events/mo, team collaboration, advanced reports
  • Agency — ~$749/mo — 50M events/mo, white-label, priority support
  • Enterprise — on request — no limits, SLA, dedicated manager

Up to 20% discount on annual billing. Free trial: 14 days with no feature restrictions, no credit card required.

Additional costs: automation (5-minute cost updates and advanced rules) is a paid add-on in some plans. Verify this when choosing a plan.

Connecting a Custom Tracking Domain

RedTrack provides every client a dedicated domain like xxxx.rdtk.io — usable immediately out of the box. But for protection against spy tools and ad network blocks, a custom domain is strongly preferred.

What you need: any domain from any registrar. No VPS required — just a DNS record.

Step 1: Add a CNAME Record

In your domain registrar's DNS settings, create a CNAME record:

Host Type Value
track (or any subdomain) CNAME your_dedicated_domain.rdtk.io

For example, if your domain is example.com and you use the subdomain track, the final tracking domain will be track.example.com.

If using Cloudflare — set the record to «DNS only» (grey cloud), not «Proxied». Proxying through Cloudflare breaks CNAME-based tracking.

Step 2: Add the Domain in RedTrack

In the panel: Tools → Domains → Create new domain. Enter your subdomain (e.g. track.example.com). Enable Free SSL — RedTrack automatically issues a Let's Encrypt certificate with one click.

Step 3: Verify the CNAME

Confirm the record propagated: go to mxtoolbox.com/CNAMELookup.aspx and enter your subdomain. «Canonical Name» should show your RedTrack dedicated domain. If it shows something else or «record not found» — check your registrar's settings.

The number of custom domains depends on your plan. If you need more, an additional 50-domain pack is available as an add-on.

Why You Might Want a VPS Alongside RedTrack

The RedTrack tracker doesn't need a server. But a VPS is useful alongside it in several scenarios:

Landing page hosting. You can upload landing pages directly into RedTrack's built-in hosting — convenient but limited. Your own VPS gives more control over load speed, CDN configuration, and access protection.

Proxy redirects. An extra layer of traffic rotation through your own server before handing off to RedTrack.

Scripts and automation. Cron jobs, custom data sync scripts, integrations with external APIs that RedTrack doesn't support natively.

Publisher portal infrastructure. When using white-label features — hosting additional brand pages.

For these tasks, a starting VPS from €5.77/mo on THE.Hosting works well — Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, KVM virtualization. Or the trial tier at €1/mo after completing KYC (maximum 6 months).

If data must stay only on your infrastructure — go with Keitaro or Binom. If you don't want to manage a server and need native CAPI integrations — RedTrack.

Common Issues

Custom domain not working after setup. DNS likely hasn't propagated yet (up to 24 hours) or the CNAME points to the wrong address. Check via mxtoolbox: the Canonical Name value must match your RedTrack dedicated domain exactly.

Cloudflare interfering with CNAME. When using Cloudflare, set the record to «DNS only». The orange «Proxied» cloud is incompatible with RedTrack's CNAME-based tracking.

Click count differs from the ad network. A normal situation — different systems count differently. For Facebook, compare unique clicks, not total. Verify that time zones match.

SSL isn't issuing. Confirm the CNAME has propagated first (mxtoolbox), then re-enable Free SSL in the domain settings.

FAQ:

Does RedTrack install on a server? No. RedTrack is cloud SaaS. You register on their site and work through the browser. For a custom tracking domain, all you need is a CNAME record in your DNS.

Is a VPS required to use RedTrack? No — not for the tracker itself. A VPS is useful for hosting landing pages, proxy redirects, and running automation scripts.

How does RedTrack work around iOS 14.5 restrictions? Through Conversion API (CAPI) — a direct server-to-server integration with the ad network without browser cookies. RedTrack supports CAPI natively for Meta, Google, and TikTok.

Is data stored on RedTrack's servers? Yes. This is a cloud solution — your data lives on RedTrack's infrastructure. If keeping data only on your own servers matters, go with Keitaro or Binom on a VPS.

Can RedTrack be used for Facebook campaigns? Yes. RedTrack recommends no-redirect tracking for Facebook (no direct redirect links). The built-in CAPI integration sends conversion data directly to Meta without cookies.
