Four configurations in the catalog. You need a fifth. Or the first one, but with a different disk array. Or three identical servers in one rack with preconfigured replication. For such cases, there is the custom build format — an individual configuration tailored to your requirements.
How It Differs from a Standard Order
Standard plan: fixed parameters, activation in half an hour, then you configure everything yourself. Suitable for most tasks.
Custom server is a different process. You describe the task or requirements, support assembles the configuration and, if necessary, installs the required software before handing over access. You get a server ready to work, not a blank slate.
Both options provide full root access and the same level of support. The difference is in who handles the initial setup.
What You Can Specify
Hardware. Standard plans have fixed CPUs, RAM, and storage. With an individual order, you discuss the specific configuration: more memory, a different type or number of disks, a specific processor model.
Software. Need a specific control panel, a pre-configured web server, or a custom stack — include it in the request. No need to spend time on installation right after receiving access.
Network. Specific location, multiple servers in one rack, BGP session, private network between servers, dedicated 10 Gbps port — all of this is specified during ordering, not figured out afterwards.
OS settings. Pre-installed system with required parameters: hostname, network settings, basic security.
When It Makes Sense
You need a configuration not in the catalog. Memory between two plans, non-standard disk array, specific processor model — only an individual order can accommodate this.
Multiple identical servers. Setting up a cluster or multiple uniform nodes — order them as a group with identical parameters. No need to configure each one manually from scratch.
Migrating infrastructure from another provider. Want to reproduce your current configuration on new hardware without changes — describe what you have, get the same thing.
Deployment time is critical. If you need to start working immediately after receiving access rather than spending hours installing the stack — a custom server solves this.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does preparation take? Depends on the configuration. Non-standard hardware requires procurement time. If the configuration is assembled from available stock — faster. Ask for specific timelines when placing the order.
Can the configuration be changed later? Software — by yourself, at any time. Hardware — by request to support.
Will the price be higher than standard plans? Calculated individually. May be higher or lower depending on specific parameters.
Can it be registered as a legal entity? Yes, THE.Hosting works with legal entities. Closing documents are provided.
