Binom is built by affiliate marketers — a team with hands-on experience who wrote the tracker for their own campaigns seven years ago and then opened it to the market. The core argument against cloud trackers: flat pricing regardless of traffic volume. Pay for the license, send a billion clicks. No extra charges for events, domains, or users.
In late 2023, Binom v2 launched with a ground-up rewrite: ClickHouse instead of pure MySQL, reports up to 30x faster, capacity of up to 260 million clicks per day on a single server. Version 1 continues operating and selling in parallel.
The first thing to nail down before ordering a VPS: Binom runs on Ubuntu, not CentOS. This is a fundamental difference from Keitaro — don't mix up the OS.
v1 vs v2: Which to Choose
Both versions are sold simultaneously with different pricing and capabilities.
Binom v1 — the classic MySQL-based version. Handles up to 17 million clicks per day, redirects from 5ms. Suitable for the vast majority of affiliates — this capacity covers serious campaigns comfortably.
Binom v2 — rebuilt architecture on ClickHouse + PHP. Up to 260 million clicks per day, reports 30x faster, up to 30 grouping parameters, built-in Binom Protect (cloaker), extended team access controls. For aggressive volumes and teams of three or more — v2.
Migration from v1 to v2 transfers all campaigns, settings, and historical data.
Technical Requirements
OS: Ubuntu 22.04 or Ubuntu 24.04 — only these. CentOS, Debian, AlmaLinux are not supported. If you have a different OS, reinstall through your hosting panel.
Virtualization: KVM. THE.Hosting uses KVM — you're good.
Clean server: no control panels (cPanel, ISPmanager, Plesk), no other software pre-installed. Binom sets up its own environment, and conflicts with existing infrastructure cause problems.
Minimum specs (v2):
| Clicks per day | RAM | CPU | Disk |
|---|---|---|---|
| up to 1,000,000 | 4 GB | 2 vCPU | 50 GB SSD |
| up to 10,000,000 | 8 GB | 4 vCPU | 100 GB SSD |
| up to 100,000,000 | 16 GB | 8 vCPU | 200 GB SSD |
| up to 260,000,000 | 32 GB+ | 16+ vCPU | 400 GB SSD |
For v1, requirements are roughly half of the above at the same click volume.
Disk: storing statistics from past periods takes significant space at high traffic volumes. Get an SSD with headroom — expanding the disk later is easier than migrating to a new server.
Choosing Server Location
Binom handles the redirect, and server response time directly affects conversion. Rule: place the server as close as possible to your campaign audience.
- European traffic → Netherlands (Meppel) or Germany (Frankfurt)
- US and Canada → USA (New Jersey, Secaucus)
- Asia → Japan (Tokyo) or Hong Kong
- Latin America → Brazil (São Paulo)
- CIS and Russia → Finland (Helsinki) or Moldova (Chișinău)
- Mixed multi-geo → a point equidistant from all target locations

Installing Binom v2
Step 1: Order the VPS
On the.hosting, pick a VPS tier matching your click volume from the table above. When creating the server, select Ubuntu 22.04 or Ubuntu 24.04 as the OS. Leave the control panel field blank.
You'll receive by email: IP address, login, and password.
Step 2: Prepare Your Domain in Advance
Binom recommends pointing your domain to the server before installation — this way SSL is issued automatically during setup. In your domain's DNS settings, create an A record pointing to the server's IP and wait for propagation (a few minutes to 24 hours).
The tracker works on a bare IP too, but ad campaigns need a domain with HTTPS.
Step 3: Connect to the Server
ssh root@your-IP-address
Step 4: Download and Run the Installer
wget https://files.binom.org/binom_v2_install.sh
bash binom_v2_install.sh install
The installer asks a few questions: timezone, tracker domain (or IP if you don't have a domain yet), installation folder. If DNS is already propagated, a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate is issued and configured automatically.
Installation takes about 10–15 minutes. Once done, the script outputs a login and password — save them immediately, they're auto-generated and cannot be recovered.
Step 5: First Login
Open https://your-domain/ in a browser — the Binom login screen. Enter the credentials from the installer output.
After logging in, change your password through the profile settings right away.
Alternative: Let Binom Support Install It for You
This is a unique option most trackers don't offer: Binom's support team installs the tracker on your server for free. Write to them via the website chat or Telegram — give them server access credentials and they'll set up the tracker and its entire environment (PHP, MySQL, ionCube) from scratch.
The best option if you don't want to deal with the command line.
Updates
Binom updates in one click directly from the interface. When a new version is available, an orange "New update" link appears at the top — click it, confirm, done within a few minutes.
Minor updates install automatically in the background without any action from you.
Binom Protect — Built-in Cloaker (v2 Only)
Binom v2 includes Protect — a built-in cloaking tool, no separate paid service needed. It blocks bots, ad network moderators, anti-fraud systems, and spy tools based on 20+ signals: IP ranges, User-Agent, referrer, ASN, device fingerprint.
Works through rules in campaign flows: real users see your landing page, everyone else gets a clean page or a redirect. Especially relevant for Facebook, TikTok, and Google Ads where direct redirect links don't work.
Common Issues
Installer fails or crashes. First thing to check — Ubuntu version. CentOS, Debian, or any other OS will throw an error at startup. Reinstall the OS through the THE.Hosting panel (Reinstall option).
SSL didn't issue during installation. DNS hasn't propagated yet, or the A record points to the wrong IP. Wait and try to issue SSL from the domain settings in the Binom interface.
Slow reports on v1. With a large accumulated volume of MySQL statistics, report generation slows down. Solution — either upgrade to v2 (ClickHouse is dramatically faster) or archive older statistics.
Click count differs from the ad network. Normal: different systems handle unique visitors and bots differently, and measure in different timezones. For diagnostics, compare raw clicks (all hits) in an identical time range.

FAQ:
How does Binom differ from Keitaro? Two fundamental differences. First — OS: Binom runs on Ubuntu, Keitaro requires CentOS 9 Stream. Second — pricing model: Binom charges a flat fee with no click limits, Keitaro tiers features and domain counts by plan. Binom v2 also includes a built-in cloaker; with Keitaro that's a separate topic.
Can Binom be installed on CentOS? No. Binom v2 supports only Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04. This is a hard requirement, not a recommendation.
Are there click limits in the license? None. You pay for the license and send as much traffic as your server hardware can handle. The only constraint is the iron.
Can I install it without Linux experience? Yes — Binom support installs the tracker on your server for free. Message them in the chat, provide VPS credentials, they handle the rest.
Which is better — v1 or v2? If your volume is under 5–10 million clicks per day and you don't need a built-in cloaker — v1 is cheaper and sufficient. For aggressive volumes, teams, and built-in cloaking — v2.
